The Salty Method uses hand-tied hair, as opposed to other methods that use bulkier installation that are much harder to blend and hide.
The Salty Method works on all hair types from the finest, thinnest hair to the coarsest hair types without slippage and with minimal damage.
Other methods can have a lot of slippage if the hair type is not right for the method.
What sets the Salty Method apart is the way we fold the hair into the bead allows stylists to double the support in one bead, have less points of tension, minimal damage, and can also be done with every hair type.
The certification training is designed to be viewed and practiced over the course of 5 weeks. You have 3 months from purchase to submit examples of work for feedback & implement feedback to meet certification standards.
While the course is designed to be consumed over 5 weeks, you’ll have lifetime access to the certification training videos to refer back to and refresh on!

You’ll have an online portal to watch the trainings. After watching the trainings you’ll film/photograph examples of the method and submit them via the portal or by email. We’re not looking for studio quality videos/pictures - most course work is taken on student phones. Krystal will then review the work and send feedback. After implementing feedback and showing competence and confidence in the method you’ll be sent a certificate to print off and proudly display and be added to our stylist locator!
Yes, you must have an active cosmetology license to become certified in the Salty Method.
When you join the Salty Method certification we’ll send you a Salty hair kit which includes; a weft of our signature Salty hair for practicing, a set of our custom Salty Velcro Hair grips, extension needles, our signature salty beads & extension thread, clips, a beader, stork scissors, an all-in-one extension tool (bead clamper and bead opener) & super glue.
You will need to provide your own mannequin head, table stand/tripod, or model.
Before you’ll be able to become a Salty Pro and purchase Salty Hair you’ll need to submit examples showing competence with the practice hair you’ll receive after registration.
